Three Clashed between TNLA and RCSS Troops

Three head-on clashes took place in one day between the TNLA and RCSS/SSA troops in Manton Township, Brigade-1 Area, Ta’ang Region.

         Clashes took place from 1215 to 1830 hours, between TNLA troops of Battalion-999 and RCSS/SSA troops at a place between Ta-lat and Kaung-law villages, – from 1500 to 1900 hours, between TNLA troops from Battalion-189 and RCSS/SSA troops at a place between Man-mai and Man-ee villages and from 1500 to 1530 hours, between TNLA Battalion-765 troops and RCSS/SSA troops at the Upper Side of Manmai village. The clashes took place as the RCSS troops, attempting to enter in aggression into the TNLA operational area, ran into the TNLA troops.

TNLA and Myanmar Tatmadaw (MT) Troops Clashed Again

August 13, 2016

          Today, from 1315 to 1500 hours, a head-on battle took place between TNLA Battalion-987 troops and Myanmar Tatmadaw (MT) troops from a battalion under MOC-1 of Kyaukme, near Nyaung Pan Hla village of Kyaukme Township, Brigade-2 Area, Ta’ang Region. Casualty on both side is still not known. The fighting is still not finished yet. The two sides are in the mode of keeping watch on each other.

          The clashes could become more intensified as the MT has sent in more reinforcements into the Ta’ang Region in the past few days.

TNLA Released a Sergeant of Namtkham Police Station

August, 9, 2016

On August 6 at 1540 hours, the TNLA Battalion-571 troops arrested a police sergeant, in civilian clothes, by the name of Thet Min Htet of Namtkham Police Station, in Pa-den village of Namtkham Township, Brigade-1 Area, Ta’ang Region. On August 8, he was handed over in good order to village administrative head and Ta’ang Literature and Culture Organization.

On August 6 at 1500 hours, there was an exchange of fire between the TNLA and Pansay militia troops near Paden village. When the shooting died down, the TNLA troops blocked the road and conducted a check on the people and arrested a person on suspicion. On interrogation the person turned out to be a Namtkham Police Station’s police sergeant, named Thet Min Htet of serial number (La-162436), son of U Han Tin. He was travelling from Namtkham Police Station to 13-Mile Checkpoint, to which he had been posted. He was coming with a policeman on a motor cycle, but when it rained, he sent the policeman to go ahead while he hitch-hiked a ride. Paden village administrative head certified his statement. After that our troops explained that as the firefight was still on there could be danger if he continued the journey and he was kept in the custody of our troops for the night. On August 7, Namtkham Township Ta’ang Literature and Culture Organization people came and explained that the police sergeant Thet Min Htet was serving at the Namtkham Police Station and that he was a good civil servant. The sergeant was finally handed over to the Ta’ang Literature and Culture Organization and the village administration.

Clash between Pansay Militia Carrying Narcotic Drug and TNLA

August 8, 2016 The troops of TNLA Battalion-571, on arriving near Paden village of Namtkham Township, Brigade- 1 Area, Ta’ang Region, flagged down to stop a car running on Namt-pat-ka-Kutkai motor road. The car instead sped away and persons in the rear of the car started to shoot at the TNLA troops, who returned the fire. The persons on the car then jumped down from the car with bags and continued shooting. The exchange of fire took place for a few minutes. Then they ran away towards the 12-Mile Post, where there was a Pansay militia checkpoint. On checking the car, 6 badges of Pansay Militia force, 2 shirt chest badges, a military hat with militia badge, 30 tablets of amphetamine, 3 radio telephones and one battery charger were captured. It was learnt that the armed men on the car were members of Pansay Militia and they were carrying narcotic drugs for sale on the Namtkham side.

Today, August 2, clashes took place between the TNLA and RCSS troops, from 1330 to 1400 hours near Manmai village of Manton Township, Brigade-1 Area, Ta’ang Region, and from 1630 to 1700 hours near Ta-let village of Manton Township. Casualty on both side is not still not known.

Clashes Continue between TNLA and Myanmar Tatmadaw Troops

August 2, 2016 Today, August 2, from 1115 to 1200 hours, a head-on battle took place between TNLA Battalion-571 and Myanmar Tatmadaw (MT) Division-33 troops near Kaung-moo Ywa-haung village. The battle has not yet totally subsided and the two sides are in the mode of keeping watch on each other. As MT has sent in reinforcement of 200 troops in the area, the fighting could become more intense.
