Two Battles between TNLA and Myanmar Tatmadaw (MT) Troops Today MT Jets Came to Attack Twice

Today, December 13, two battles took place again between the TNLA and MT troops in Mantong Township, Bde-1 Area and Kutkai Township, Bde-5 Area, Ta’ang Region. The head-on battles took place at a location between Marn-leh and Kaung-nane villages of Kutkai Township from 1040 to 1117 hours, and near Marn-E village of Man-tong Township from 0700 to 1500 hours. In the battle, taking place at the location between Man-leh and Kaung-nane villages of Kutkai Township, 2 killed and several wounded on the MT side. As the MT side suffered high casualty in the battle taking place near Man-E village of Man-tong Township, 2 MT jet fighters came to attack twice, once at 1230 hours and another time at 1500 hours. The MT has launched more offensives in Ta’ang Region and fired heavy weapons into and around villages, without reason. Today, at 1150 hours, from Man-pan village of Namt-kham township, the MT troops fired heavy weapons not less than 10 times towards Man-tit, Lweh-laut and Man-lweh villages, and a shell landed inside Man-lweh village. We still do not know whether the heavy weapon fire had hit human beings, animals and buildings.

Three Battles between TNLA and MT Troops Today MT Used Air Strikes

Today, December 12, three battles took place between the TNLA and MT troops in Man-tong Township, Bde-1 Area, Kyaukme Township, Bde-2 Area and Kut-kai Township, Bde-5 Area. Head-on battles took place between the MT and TNLA Bn-876/571, TNLA Bn-717 and TNLA Bn- 447 troops respectively from 1130 to 1700 hours at a location between Mine-tat and Pan-wa villages of Namtu Township, at 0800 hours near Pan-ma village, and from 1600 to 1645 hours at a location between Kaung-nin and Man-jeh villages of Kut-kai Township.

Battle between TNLA and MT Troops

December 11, 2016

A head-on battle took place today at 1800 hours, between TNLA Bn-717 and MT troops near Kaw-paung village of Kyaukme Township, Bde-2 Area, Ta’ang Region. The battle started, when the MT troops coming to attack from Tort-san village towards Kaw-paung village, where the TNLA troops were in position, ran into the forward sentry post of the TNLA troops.

TNLA Special Drug Eradication Unit Captured Heroin Worth Over 20 Million Kyat

December 11, 2016

A special drug eradication unit and civil administration team of the TNLA Bde-4, on December 10, at 1100 hours stopped and checked on Lashio-Mansan Highway in Loat-lay village of Namt-tu Township, Ta’ang Region, a red motorcycle bearing number CZ1125, coming from Lashio and going toward Namt-tu Town. The motorcycle was driven by Mai Tun Kyaw, son of Tar Amouk and Ya Aye Khaing, of Kya-kaung village of Man-tong Township. At the back of the motorcycle the officials found heroin, in 110 soap boxes packed in a Penan bag, having a value of 22 million Kyat, at the current market price. The narcotic drug and the suspect are kept in the custody of our own force and the case will be tried in court, in accordance with the law of the PSLF/TNLA. Like in the previous years, the captured narcotic drugs will be destroyed by burning on the anniversary day, in the presence of the media, elders and the people.

Clashes Continue to Happen between TNLA and MT Troops

December 7, 2016

On December 6, at 0630 hours, a head-on battle took place between TNLA Bn-434 and MT LIB- 115 troops near Man-mai village of Taung-ma Village Tract of Namt-san Township, Bde-2 Area, Ta’ang Region. The Man-mai village head, forcibly brought by the MT troops was wounded. One sergeant was killed and 6, including one officer, were wounded on the MT side. A few days ago, 3 villagers – Mai A-doe, Mai Yin Htway and Mai Aung Tun of Zeh-ton-hone village, which is near the site where the battle took place now, were arrested and beaten up by MT troops and as the injuries were severe they had to be sent to Namt-san hospital for treatment.

MT Jet Fighters Bombed Namt Hai Areas Even When There Was No Battle

On December 6, from 1500 t0 1600 hours, MT Jet fighters came and bombed 8 places in areas around Namt Hai of Man-tong Township, Ta’ang Region. It was learnt from the local people that the MT jets bombed areas around Namt Hai village, Zaydi Taung Hill, Lower Side of Ta-let, places along the gas pipe line, Namt-ye-kay village, Maw-no village and Maw-taut village. It was learnt that the people are in terror and worried constantly about survival, as the bombing was done, even when there was no battle and no enemy also. It is still not known whether the bombing affected human beings, animals and buildings.

Battles Continue to Take Place between TNLA and MT Troops

Today, from 0818 to 0915 hours, a head-on battle took place between TNLA Bn-773/999 and MT troops, near Kon-mon-Kon-nyaung village of Man-tong Township, Bde-3 Area, Ta’ang Region. The battle is not totally over and the two sides are keeping watch on each other. As the MT troops came to attack the TNLA troops in the region since November 23, clashes took place between the two sides, every day.

Clashes Continue between TNLA and MT Troops

Today, from 1530 to 1600 hours, a head-on battle took place between the TNLA Bn-773/999 and MT troops near Kon-mon-Kon-nyaung village of Man-tong Township, Bde-3 Area, Ta’ang Region. On November 23, after the TNLA troops had cleared up successfully the aggressor RCSS camps in the area, as 2 battalions of MT troops came to attack, clashes occurred, every day. Today also, at about 1200 hours, the MT troops from Namt Hai military camp fired heavy weapon – 105 mm artillery – not less than 10 times without reason, towards villages around the camp. It is still not known if human beings, animals and buildings were hit.

Without Reason, MT Troops Fired Heavy Weapon, Targeting Human Beings

November 29, 2016

In Ta’ang Region today, the MT troops fired 105 mm artillery not less than 20 times, in a single day, even when there was no battle, into places where the people move about and around places of human settlements, without reason. Today, at about 1200 hours, the MT troops from Namt-san military camp fired heavy weapons not less than 10 times in the northern direction towards Ar-rarm village, in the south-eastern direction towards Taung-ma village and Lweh-saing-taung Pagoda, in the southern direction towards Kon-sin and Kweh-heh villages and in the western direction towards Namt-kay village and Taung-yoe Pagoda. At about 1100 hours in Man-tong Township, the MT troops fired heavy weapon not less than 10 times from their Namt Hai camp towards villages in the areas around the camp. It is still not known if human beings, animals and buildings were hit by the heavy weapon shooting. People of the villages are alarmed by such attacks targeting the publics, without reason.
